You will also take responsibility for ensuring that client relationships are maintained through excellent working practices.  Your experience in the road surfacing sector will be invaluable as you will offer advice and assistance in the development of bids and tenders for the contracting element of your business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong all-round technical understanding of the road surfacing sector, whether from the materials manufacturing or highway contracting sector.  Senior management experience in the micro asphalt, anti-skid and surface dressing industry is essential.

Assistant Engineer,  Location: Midlands,  Salary: circa £23,000 per annum + Benefits

An opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's fastest growing infrastructure maintenance firms and develop your Civil Engineering skills on a high profile highway management contract.

We require an up and coming engineer to work with an expanding group of bridge and associated structural engineers.  You will work with the team to develop your existing engineering skills while also being exposed to all elements of the structural engineering process, from initial design and client consultation through to on site delivery of the project.

The key function of this role is to lead the study, inspection and design & construction elements of bridge works throughout the geographical region of the contract. 

The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in civil engineering and at least two years of practical engineering experience.

We currently have a highly urgent role for a Site Supervisor to oversee the day to day management of a number of small road marking projects in the Warwickshire. Ideally, we require a strong supervisor with a demonstrable background in the highway maintenance, surfacing or road marking sectors - but this is not essential . A sound level of people management abilities, coupled with good operational planning skills is very important. Experience of managing site based activities, including health and safety is crucial, as is a good understanding of traffic management. This role will be considered on either a contract or temp to perm basis.

Senior Estimator, Hampshire, Circa £50,000 per annum + benefits

An urgent vacancy has arisen for a Senior Estimator in the Hampshire region. 

Ideally, we require candidates with either a degree or diploma in civil engineering and a proven track record of managing the estimating process on either civil engineering or highway construction projects.    

The successful candidate is likely to have a track record of working on site before moving into the estimating sector and therefore has experience of site based conditions and a fundamental understanding of what takes place on complex civil engineering projects.  A proven track record of successfully managing teams and working closely with senior managers is key.

As an established senior estimator, you will be required to contribute to the preparation and submission of successful tenders primarily through the production of accurate, well structured estimates.  You will also be comfortable liaising with both the operational and commercial teams on a day to day basis and will work closely with the client to ensure successful project outcomes.

Asset Manager, Location:  East Midlands, Salary: circa £40,000 per annum + Benefits

Our client, one of the UK’s leading civil engineering and infrastructure maintenance firms, has recently been awarded a long term street lighting maintenance contract in the East Midlands region and requires an experienced Asset, Systems and Planning Manager to join the team.

Based out of the East Midlands office, the main purpose of the role is to take an active role in systems and asset management while supporting the operational and commercial teams.

Crucially, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the Management Information System, whilst ensuring that systems and procedures are in place to meet the quality requirements of the contract. 

The successful candidate will have a proven background in Asset Management, coupled with strong IT skills and a hands-on approach to systems and prodedural development.  Knowledge of street lighting would be beneficial, but is not considered critical.

Associate Director, Transportation planning, Middle East. With the huge changes happening recently in the Middle East, the Civil Engineering sector has quietened down significantly in Dubai.  However, the same cannot be said for other locations in the region. 

We have recently been asked to source an Associate Director to oversee and direct the Bus Planning Network team.  This exciting role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop the bus planning network for a major city from the ground up.  The team supporting you will be developed as the project grows, giving you complete flexibility to mould the team to suit your project needs.  It is envisaged that this will be one of the largest concept projects in the middle east for the next 10 years and will need a strong manager to plan, develop, initiate and control the entire project. 

The ideal candidate will need a relevant degree and have an excellent track record of delivering similar projects on the ground.  Experience of working abroad would be advantageous, but is not essential.  Crucial skills include excellent man management abilities coupled with the ability to win the client's backing whilst delivering what could be a very cumbersome and disruptive project right in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world.
